If money is truly the root of all evil then politics must be the soil in which those roots grow… and lobbyists the rain which feeds both.
Rather than taking the opportunity to show how people with different beliefs can coexist in harmony, it is exploited for profit and power. Control the head, control the entire body.
The most important thing to comprehend is that a politician is never, ever on your side. You are one theirs. Once you understand this crucial difference, you’ll have a better understanding of why things are impossibly slow to change – They will back whatever they believe is the popular opinion in order to get the job. Once in, it no longer matters as much.
Rather than blindly supporting a candidate who waves the same color flag you do, look at their actions. Casting a vote based on sex, gender, culture or anything else other than the quality of their term in office only benefits the politician and those who line his/her pockets.
