On what subject(s) are you an authority?

You know those Subject Matter Experts who have tons of knowledge about useless facts? Well, that’s sort-of me.

I’d like to think I’m an authority on Marketing, but because I’ve worked for people who knew nothing about it and yet told me how to do my job, I’m unsure how good I really am.

I’d like to believe I’m somewhat of a writer, but I’ve never taken an actual class on writing and I continue to delay not only the book I have in my head, but the other ideas I’ve taken notes for.

While those are if’s and maybes, I do have subjects I’m confident on -the knowledge I eluded to in my first paragraph – Multiple methodologies of lying, cheating, betrayal, tracking adulterous s/o’s, and my crowning skills… Terrible decision making and the survival skills necessary to recover from those decisions.

Oddly enough, I’ve found a use for these talents – Mentoring others who seek guidance. Most of you have heard the joke “the purpose of some people is to serve as an example for others” – I feel that’s where I fit in.

I’m the authority on what not to do in most circumstances.
