I would love to say the lion or great white shark. I am in awe of apex predators and their acceptance of what they are in the grand scheme of things. Their power, drive, and focus… But that would not be an accurate representation for me in this life.
My match would be the creature of myth and legend, the Phoenix -Not because of some majestic correlation or symbol of grandiosity.
No, I believe my inveterate self-immolation is what would place me in league with this creature of ash and flame. In a span of 33 years my life has been transmogrified to cinders no less than 8 times. That’s roughly a rebirth every 4-ish years. And when I say cinders, this last time even my ID was taken -the very core of who I am as a person.
I’m not a statistician, but based on the growing severity of each event, I’d say the current version may be the last iteration. No more reincarnations.
I suppose I should make the best of it.
