I figured I’d give this daily prompt a spin.
My favorite animal is tie between a lion and a Great White. Two apex predators who are pure in design and clear of intent. They know what they are. Male lions protect and breed. Female lions hunt and reproduce. They are magnificent while standing in their presence. There is no doubt what they are or who the apex predator is.
Great White sharks are no different. They swim through the ocean with clarity of what they are. They kill when hungry. They breed to keep their species alive. They are not mindless killing machines. They’ve just been vilified by movies and media. We swim in their world and claim they’re the enemy when we become the recipient of their test bite.
You don’t travel to Africa, get mauled by lions, then blame the pride. You knew what you were doing when you set foot in their world. We are only top of the food chain when we are in our world -not theirs.
Anyways – I love all apex predators for the same reason, but these two I hold in high regard because of their beauty and power. Their war wounds have stories attached and make them even more beautiful. It shows what they have survived. Their resilience.
I really enjoyed reading your post about your admiration for lions and Great White sharks. The way you described their roles in nature and their clear intent in their respective environments is insightful. Your perspective on these apex predators as misunderstood beings rather than mindless killers really resonates. It’s refreshing to see someone appreciate the beauty and power of these animals, recognizing the stories behind their scars and admiring their resilience. Your passion for these magnificent creatures shines through in your writing! Keep sharing these fascinating insights! π¦π¦β¨
