Demons linger under my bed
Hold me tight, filled with dread
Intrusive thoughts invade my head
Hardened heart, another piece dead
The hallway so dark and dreary
A lonely walk for legs broken, weary
Anxiety fills my chest, eyes teary
Beyond my bed, a life in theory
Could I place my feet on the floor?
Outrun my demons to the door?
Will darkness consume me forevermore?
Trapped in my mind, a prisoner of war
