I’ll apologize in advance for this rant. My PTSD was triggered this past weekend when I had a very unexpected-yet-expected experience in one of the old businesses I’ve visited in the past. After much editing, I cut it down for quick reading. No sense prattling on about such things.
By now most everyone in sales has seen the meme which states “Lions do not loose sleep over the opinion of sheep.”
… But you see, neither do Lampreys.
Way too many people who are at the top of the corporate ladder believe they are the king of jungle when in fact, they’re not even the hyenas that nip at the lion’s tail.
The people in charge are actually predatory lampreys. They survive and thrive off the misery of their host… till the host dies… then they move on to the next.
If you feel as though your HR department could use an express lane… That is a solid indicator of which animal you work for.
If morale is constantly low and the employees, not management, is to blame – another shining example.
I have so many examples from ONE actual company that it would seem fictitious if I were to share them all… But you get the picture.
Nothing is worth suffering the life-devouring lamprey. Cut if off and search for your pride and self worth. “Holding on for something better” is a useless effort if, by the time you find that job, you’re hollowed out, have overwhelming anxiety, and pitifully low self esteem.
There’s only one of you and you only have a very short existence on this big, blue marble.
Choose yourself.
