Security is temporary in all respects. Nothing is certain except death and taxes. I’ve lived a life in constant survival mode -borderline feral. It’s taken the person I’m with no less than 10 years to domesticate me and my habits/personality. Even now, I’m not completely “tame”. I’d say I’m closer to manageable. So yeah, she’s a saint.
People die. Friends move on and we grow down different paths. We are our own train conductors. Each time we make a stop, some get off while others may get on. It’s not always a tit-for-tat though. There could be a period of time where there are no exchanges of passengers -simply events we all go through together.
Security is a lie we believe so we do not live in a constant state of anxiety attack. We are secure IN THIS MOMENT but that is all we are given.
With that being said, I obviously choose adventure. Living life to the fullest. Take the trip. See the sights. Scare yourself a little. Test your boundaries. The world stops for no one… ever… for any reason.
Well, ok, it stops when you’re in line at the DMV or in the doctor’s office -but aside from that.
Adventures also do not need to be grandiose in execution. A quick trip to the convenience store for an ice cream bar. A drive across town to go to your favorite eatery. Maybe just a walk at your favorite body of water. (Not the one where you hid the bodies. Don’t be stupid about it)
Adventure is what you make of it. Security is a facade with an unknown expiration date. Choose wisely.
Ahhhh… this is beautiful and so much truth. I love the humor you inject when least expected ☺️
