Saying Goodbye

Obituary Notice:

On March 23, 2024 at 1:35 pm, Peanut Elliott of Lavalette, WV succumbed to kidney failure at the age of 16 while resting at home.

In his early years, Peanut made a name for himself while touring the southern states as a professional piñata boxer known as The Mexican Snowshoes. His catnip-fueled lifestyle eventually caught up with him and he eventually found himself in a homeless shelter. It was there his forever family would discover and adopt this kind spirit.

Peanut checked himself into the world renowned Toe Beans Wellness facility where recovery went exceptionally well. After discharge from the program, Peanut moved back in with the family that offered him salvation. He bonded with the youngest daughter and utilized his life’s experiences to help provide guidance, advice, and endless cuddles to his young caretaker during her high school career and into college. They were inseparable.

Sadly, his health issues began to make themselves known and his family had to accept that Peanut’s time in this life was quickly coming to an end. He loved spending time with family especially during the holidays and special events. The only complaint he ever vocalized was being left alone for more than a day. Being alone reminded him too much of his shelter days.

Peanut is survived by his human family – favorite person #1 (His lifelong companion), favorite person #2 (distant uncle), sister to favorite person #1, grandparents and great grandparents.

Viewing and a private service will be held for family and close friends on or around April 2, 2024. Burial will take place in the family’s pet cemetery in Wayne County. We ask for everyone’s thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of one of the great piñata boxers of our time.
