Because I haven’t worked in three years and unsure if I’ll be able to return to the rat race, I’ll share a memory.
A job I had in my mid-twenties was working for the guy who invented the long-distance dial around service. (i.e. 10-10-220) We were a company of less than 80 at the time. It was a true family atmosphere and I loved working there every single day. Our victories were celebrated as a whole. Everyone practically knew everyone else. It was also where I managed my first multi-million dollar project.
That job was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I was never able to replicate and feels as though places like that have gone the way of the dinosaurs.
