There’s a little shop in Gatlinburg, TN that makes fresh sour taffy while you watch. To me, there are fewer candies better than fresh, soft, sour, taffy. Although it’s a pain in the ass to get out of the wrapper because it sticks and I have to end up chewing it off, I don’t really mind that much.
Although most sour candy doesn’t have the pucker factor for me no matter how “extreme” they claim it to be, I enjoy the sour flavor itself when proportionate to the amount of candy it’s in.
The store advertises 33 flavors available and offer normal, sugar-free, sour, and last I checked, moonshine flavored. They previously offered online shopping during COVID, but I believe they discontinued that service. The store stays quite busy so I assume it was a manpower issue.
If you’re ever in Gatlinburg, they’re worth the trip!
